The short version
We collect as little as we can. There are no accounts, no advertising trackers and no social media pixels on trans.fans, and our fonts are self-hosted. We count visits with Ahrefs Web Analytics, a cookieless tool that does not store personal data or follow you across other sites. The personal data we do handle comes from three places: the technical data needed to deliver the site, the Get featured form and emails you send us, and the public information in creator profiles.
Your 18+ confirmation is saved only in your own browser (localStorage key tf_age_ok). It is not a cookie and it is never sent to us.
Who is responsible
The data controller is Tonnaer Media B.V., Eindhoven, the Netherlands, the company behind FansDirect.nl and publisher of trans.fans. For anything about your data, email wouter@fansdirect.nl.
When you visit the site
trans.fans runs on GoDaddy Managed WordPress in an EU data center, behind GoDaddy's content delivery network, which is provided by Cloudflare. To deliver pages and protect the site against attacks, these services process your IP address and basic request data such as browser type, the page requested and the time. They may set strictly necessary security cookies. See our cookie policy.
Lawful basis: our legitimate interest in running a secure, working website (GDPR article 6(1)(f)). This data is kept for a limited period set by our hosting and security providers and is not used to profile you.
When you ask to be featured
The Get featured form collects your stage name, pronouns, how you want to be described (optional), your main platform, a link to your page, your email address, an optional intro text and your confirmation that you are 18+ and own your content. The form sends this by email to our team at wouter@fansdirect.nl so we can review your request and reply.
Lawful basis: your consent, and taking steps at your request (article 6(1)(a) and (b)). You can withdraw consent at any time; that does not affect what we did before.
Retention: if a submission does not lead to a profile, we delete it within 6 months. If it does, we keep the correspondence for as long as your profile is online, plus 12 months.
The same applies when you email us for another reason: we use your message only to answer it and keep it no longer than needed for that.
Creator profiles
Profiles contain publicly available information: stage name, pronouns, links to public platform pages and public profile pictures or Creative Commons photos. We only use identity labels and pronouns a creator publicly uses for themselves, and we never publish a former name.
Lawful basis: our legitimate interest in publishing journalistic and informational content (article 6(1)(f)), limited to what the creator has made public. Creators can ask for a correction or removal at any time and we act within 48 hours, no questions asked. See Content removal and DMCA.
Affiliate links
When you click an affiliate link, you go to the platform or affiliate network (for example Fansly, Fanvue, LoyalFans, FanCentro, KNKY, F2F, 4based or Ohchat). They may set their own cookies on their own domain to record that the sign-up came from us. That happens on their site, under their privacy policy. We receive commission reports, not your personal details.
Who else handles the data
We do not sell personal data and do not share it for marketing. We use these service providers, who process data on our behalf:
- GoDaddy: website hosting (EU data center) and security;
- Cloudflare, via GoDaddy's CDN: content delivery and protection against attacks;
- our email provider: receiving and storing form submissions and emails;
- Ahrefs (Ahrefs Pte. Ltd., Singapore): cookieless, aggregated visitor statistics. It does not set cookies, does not store full IP addresses and is not used for advertising. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in knowing which pages are useful (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).
We may also share data where the law requires it, for example with authorities under a lawful order.
International transfers
Our site is hosted in the EU, but some of our providers are US-based companies and may process data, such as IP addresses, outside the European Economic Area. Where that happens, we rely on the safeguards these providers offer under the GDPR, such as the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses or, where a provider is certified, the EU-US Data Privacy Framework.
Your rights
Under the GDPR (and the UK GDPR if you are in the UK) you have the right to:
- access the personal data we hold about you;
- have it corrected if it is wrong;
- have it deleted;
- restrict how we use it;
- object to processing based on legitimate interest;
- receive it in a portable format (data portability);
- withdraw consent at any time.
Email wouter@fansdirect.nl to use any of these rights. We may ask you to confirm your identity, and we reply within one month, as the law requires. We do not use automated decision-making or profiling.
If you are not happy with how we handle your data, you can complain to the Dutch data protection authority, the Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens, or to the data protection authority in your own EU country or the UK. You do not need to contact us first.
Users under 18
trans.fans is for adults only. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18, and we do not feature anyone under 18. If you think a minor has sent us information or appears on the site, email us and we will delete it right away.
Security
The site is served over HTTPS, and access to our systems and mailbox is limited to the people who need it. No system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable measures to protect what we hold.
Changes to this policy
If we add a tool that handles personal data, such as analytics, we will update this policy first and ask for consent where the law requires it. The date at the top of this page shows the latest version (September 26, 2026).
