How to support trans creators the right way

Pronouns, tipping, messages and the things that get you blocked.

Use the right name and pronouns

Every creator on trans.fans has their pronouns on their tag. Use them. It sounds basic, but it is the most common complaint creators have about fan messages.

Do not ask about their "real name" or pre-transition photos. The name on the page is the real name.

Leave their body out of your questions

Creators choose what they share. Questions about surgery, hormones or "what is down there" in a first message are the fastest way to get blocked. If a creator talks about their transition, they will do it on their own terms.

Pay for what you enjoy

  • Subscribe instead of looking for leaks. Leaked content is stolen income. Want to try before you pay? These are the legal ways to see trans creators for free.
  • Tip for a post you liked. It tells a creator what to make more of.
  • Buy the pay-per-view message instead of asking for a discount.

Messages that get replies

Be specific. "Loved the set with the red dress" gets a reply. "Hey" does not. If you want a custom request, ask about price and limits first, and accept a no.

Treat a creator the way you would want to be treated at your own job. Because that is what this is.

Where you subscribe matters too

Some creators earn more on one platform than another. If a creator has pages on both Fansly and OnlyFans, ask which one they prefer. It is a small question that shows you care.

How can I support trans creators respectfully?

Pay for the content you enjoy, treat creators like the professionals they are, and respect their boundaries. Use the name and pronouns they use, do not ask about their bodies or medical history, and never share their content outside the platform. Tips, renewals and kind messages matter more than you think, especially for smaller creators.

How do I know which pronouns a trans creator uses?

Check their bio, profile and social accounts, where many creators list their pronouns. If they are not listed, follow how the creator refers to themselves, or simply use their name. If you get it wrong, correct yourself briefly and move on, without a long apology. Getting it right is basic respect, not a special favor.

What questions should fans never ask trans creators?

Do not ask about surgeries, hormones, their body before transition, their deadname or their "real" gender. These are private medical and personal matters, and creators get these questions constantly. Asking them often gets you blocked. Talk to them about their content, their interests and what they are posting, the same way you would with any other creator.

Why shouldn't I watch leaked trans creator content?

Leaked content is stolen. Every view on a leak site takes income away from the creator and rewards the people who pirated their work. Leaks can also expose creators to harassment and outing. If you enjoy someone's content, subscribing costs a few dollars a month. If you come across a leak, you can let the creator know so they can file a takedown.

How does tipping work on fan platforms?

Most fan platforms let you send a tip on a post, in messages or during a livestream. The creator receives their share, usually 80%, and the platform keeps the rest. Tips are a direct way to show appreciation beyond the subscription. On platforms with discovery, engagement like likes and comments also helps a creator get seen. Find creators to support in our directory of trans creators.

Is it okay to ask a trans creator for custom content?

Yes, as long as you ask politely, accept their prices and accept a no. Many creators offer customs, and they set the terms. Be clear about what you want, do not haggle, and do not push for things they have said they do not do. Pay upfront through the platform, not through outside payment apps, so both of you are protected.

Which words should fans avoid when talking about trans creators?

Use "trans woman", "trans man" or "nonbinary", or better yet, whatever words the creator uses about themselves. Avoid terms that are widely seen as slurs. "Ladyboy" is a common search term, and many Thai trans women use it for themselves, but do not assume every creator is comfortable with it. When in doubt, follow the creator's lead. Our trends page explains search terms in more detail.

How can I support trans creators without spending money?

Follow their free socials, like and share posts where they allow it, and recommend them to friends who would enjoy their work. Report leak sites and impersonator accounts to the platform. Leave respectful comments. None of this replaces paying for content you use, but it helps creators grow. Read more in our guides for fans and creators.
